Alifia Sabila Putri or familiarly called Fia is a student of the Public Relations Study Program Class of 2020. On March 11 2022, Fia was officially appointed as Head of the Public Relations Student Association. The inauguration ceremony for the Board of Trustees and Student Organization Advisors for the 2022 period, was held in a hybrid manner at the Field Building 1 of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Padjadjaran University, Jatinangor.
Alifia’s experience in the organizational field made her elected in the 2021 Hima Humas General Election, beating two other candidates. Alifia’s ability to lead stood out when she led two PR Hima work programs namely, Familiarity Night and Public Relations Orientation. Outside the Association, Fia also joined the student activity units AIESEC in Unpad and BSO ShARE Unpad.
Fia’s achievements are not only in the field of student organizations. Last May, Fia and her two colleagues, Mentari Prameswari and Yolanda Patricia, won 1st place in the Public Relations Competition. This prestigious competition was organized by the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Widya Mandala University, Surabaya, East Java.

According to Alifia, being a trusted person in leading an organization is not easy, but there are many benefits and lessons that can be learned. One of them is the learning opportunities that never stop.
While leading an organization, it is important for a Chairperson to always learn and be prepared to face new things. Alifia feels that the people she met when she was the Head of the Association broadened her perspective and helped her to see a phenomenon more comprehensively. However, behind all these advantages of course there are obstacles encountered.
Coordination becomes quite a challenge, especially in transitional times with uncertain circumstances. Especially with the members’ domiciles that are different and having to do their activities online, Association members get tired more quickly and experience demotivation.
Fia also has to be alert in realizing this and finding solutions to her problems. According to Fia, it’s important to try to understand each member’s situation and provide the support needed in the current situation.
The Student Association has provided Fia with many benefits in developing herself as an individual. So becoming Chair is Fia’s way of giving back these benefits to other students in the Public Relations Study Program. Fia hopes that the Student Association can become a support group for Public Relations students in the academic field as well as positive personal development.
