The Interests and Talents Department of the Public Relations Student Association, Faculty of Communication Sciences, Padjadjaran University successfully held a hybrid PROlympiad in Jatinangor, 2-3 September 2022. PROlympiad, better known as PROlym, is an annual work program aimed at the internal scope of the Public Relations Hima in the form of competitions in arts and sports.
After approximately two years of being held online, the 2022 PROlympiad which is being held in the context of RI’s 77th Anniversary is expected to maximize its role as a forum for participants to develop and explore their talents and potential. By carrying out the theme “Pioneer of Independence”, which means that today’s independence is not only about independence for a nation, but also freedom for all aspects which include freedom of speech and freedom of expression. Through this theme, the participants are expected to become pioneers of independence today. As for the eye for the art competition which consists of TikTok and Photography, as well as the eye for the sports competition which consists of Tug of War and Badminton.

The TikTok contest is a branch of the art competition which requires participants to make creative and interesting short videos and upload them on the TikTok platform. The uploaded work must also be in accordance with the theme of the competition that has been determined, namely “Celebrating Independence Day”, such as participating in activities or carrying out any activities related to the celebration of Independence Day. On this occasion, all participants in the TikTok contest were given the opportunity to freely express their message for Indonesia’s Independence Day. The TikTok competition was successfully attended by a total of 9 participants and the 3 best works were found, namely Alifia Sabila, Erika Ilyas, and Nathania Bellatrix.
The photography contest is another art competition that requires participants to collect personal photos taken while still applying the elements of photography in them. Photographs must also be in accordance with the determined theme of the competition, namely “Spirit of Independence”, such as objects, scenes, or activities that depict the spirit of independence. The Photography Competition was successfully attended by a total of 6 participants and the 3 best works were found, namely Sherly Mediana, Jasmine Fitria, and Marva Ramelan.
PROlympiad 2022 will also hold a tug-of-war competition which is a competition that is carried out in groups and requires the strength and cohesiveness of its team members. Each group contains 5 members consisting of 2 men and 3 women. The eye of the tug of war competition was successfully followed by 4 teams and the competition that took place was quite exciting. As a result, 1st place in the tug-of-war competition was won by the 2021 Public Relations student group, namely Fafa, Aditya, Alifia, Gaga, and Ririn.

The sports field also provides points for men’s doubles and women’s doubles badminton competitions. 7 men’s doubles teams and 6 women’s doubles teams participated in this competition. The badminton match ran smoothly and excitingly, as seen from the large number of spectators to support their champion team. The 1st place in the men’s doubles was won by the pair Rahmat and Azri, while the 1st place in the women’s doubles was won by the pair Anandia and Rahma.
