The Department of Alumni Relations Hima Humas Fikom Unpad held the Maroon Graduation Celebration (Marawis) Batch I for the 2022/2023 Academic Year on Tuesday (08/11) in the campus area of Padjadjaran University, Dipati Ukur Campus. A total of 52 Unpad Public Relations students were registered as graduates in batch 1 of Marawis. This wave was also recorded as the wave with the most applicants for Public Relations graduates from the previous batches.
Maroon Graduation is one of the work programs of the Department of Alumni Relations which has been held four times as a form of celebration for Unpad Public Relations graduates who have successfully completed their studies. Marawis began with a procession from all student organizations in each Study Program within the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Padjadjaran University (Fikom Unpad). After two years the procession could not be held due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the procession finally returned to enliven the graduation ceremony. The procession formed a barricade accompanied by the singing of “Fikom Song” and applause as well as the flags of each group to welcome the graduates who had already carried out the graduation procession. Happy and proud faces radiated from the faces of the graduates.
After the procession was over, the graduates were directed to the gathering point determined by the Alumni Relations Department. Here, the graduates receive souvenirs and Maroon Pigeons – congratulatory letters from active students to graduates – addressed to them. The event ended with taking a group photo and reciting the iconic chant from Hima Humas which is always said at every Marawis event.
