IISMA is one of the scholarship programs recently opened by the Ministry of Education and Culture as part of the Independent Campus program. Fia, as she is affectionately known, was interested in enrolling in the IISMA program because she believed that being outside her comfort zone was very important for her self-development and one way to achieve this was to attend studies at foreign universities through the IISMA program. IISMA also does not only provide learning opportunities, but also encourages its awardees to have an impact on both the host and home university. Awardees will be given challenges to introduce Indonesian culture and contribute to their university. Fia also sees that IISMA has the potential to build a strong and broad alumni network in the future so that it can support her goals in the future. This gives added value to IISMA in his eyes.
She hopes that by participating in this program she will be able to gain cross-disciplinary knowledge that will later be able to support her lectures and career in the field of public relations. Another hope is to be able to achieve satisfactory results and gain new academic experience at the host university lectures.
“I also hope to be able to contribute together with my fellow awardees at the University of Canterbury and become a good representation of Unpad and Indonesia. This year will be the first year that New Zealand accepts Indonesian students from the IISMA program so it is important for me and my friends to leave an impression. the positive.” Alifia
Finally, she also hopes to bring positive things that she learned during the IISMA program and provide benefits for the Public Relations Study Program, Unpad, and fellow students in Indonesia. Hopefully what will be learned later can be shared and become insight for the people around her.
