According to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), one of the essential competencies of the professional State Civil Apparatus (ASN) is public communication skills. This is fundamental for all ASN at various levels of government, including staff in sub-district and village administrations. Public communication skills are one of the important aspects to support ASN’s daily duties and functions in carrying out public policy, public service, as glue and unifier of the nation. Cigugur District is one of the sub-districts in Pangandaran Regency, West Java Province. It is one of the KKNM activity locations that is integrated with the Lecturer Community Service Program (PPMD) activities at Padjadjaran University. The preliminary survey reported that ASN in the regions had conducted public communication to support their duties and functions. However, their knowledge and skills in public communication competence must be enhanced to build the government’s reputation. This public communication training aims to increase knowledge, understanding, and enrich ASN skills. By using an interactive, participatory and open discussion method, 33 participants representing the Cigugur District and Village actively and enthusiastically participated in the training process. Based on the evaluation results, the participants became more aware, understood, and had public communication skills. In addition, the local government fully supports the training process. Some participants could not attend because of the distance from the training location.
