Understanding who lacks knowledge is very important in determining policies related to communication, information and education activities to increase knowledge of sexual and reproductive health in Indonesian adolescents. This study attempts to reaffirm demographic factors related to knowledge of sexual and reproductive health in Indonesian adolescents. This study used the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS), which specifically surveyed single women and men aged 15-24 years. The survey sample was taken from interviews with 48,963 households, with the average age of the respondents being 18.59 years. By using bivariate and regression analysis, this study can provide evidence that age, gender, education, and place of residence have associations with knowledge of sexual and reproductive health in Indonesian adolescents. Unmarried female adolescents aged 15-24 years have better knowledge than males. Adolescents with higher levels of education have better knowledge than those with lower levels of education. As the age of the respondents increases, they tend to have better health and sexual knowledge. Finally, adolescents living in urban areas tend to be more knowledgeable than respondents living in rural areas. Thus, it is very important to improve policies by emphasizing reproductive and sexual health communication-information-education practices for young male adolescents who live in rural areas, with lower levels of education, because they lack knowledge of sexual reproductive health.
