The Public Relations Student Association of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Padjadjaran University (Hima Humas Fikom Unpad) held a Maroon Course 2.0 activity with the theme “Improving Organizational Management with Effective Communication”, on Saturday (01/10). In this activity which was held online via the ZOOM Meeting, Hima Humas collaborated with Advance Pro Indonesia to develop effective communication skills for students of the Public Relations Study Program Fikom Unpad, especially in terms of organizing.
Adrie Delyardy, the resource person in this workshop and the founder of Advance Pro Indonesia emphasized that organizational communication applies to all parties involved, both internal and external.
“Every communication that is carried out must bring a good impact. Through effective organizational communication, each member must know and understand all the interests within the organization itself, so that later communications delivered to outsiders can also have a good impact,” he explained.
Adrie also quoted one of the experts Jim Rohn, that this effective communication is actually 20% what we know, while the other 80% is what we feel with what we know. “When we can elaborate on what we know and what we feel, then we communicate it, then the communication will be effective,” he explained.
At the end of the material delivery session, Adrie shared his experience regarding concrete evidence that effective communication in organizational management is one of the important things in every organizational activity, both in the world of lectures and work.
The Maroon Course 2.0 workshop was organized by the Academic and Professional Department of Public Relations of Fikom Unpad with an interactive class concept through worksheets. The worksheet contains various questions about the material provided. Starting from things that can cause ineffective communication, types of organizations, the importance of key points in a communication, to the stages for building an effective organizational communication strategy.

Head of Hima Humas Fikom Unpad, Alifia Sabila Putri hopes that the Maroon Course 2.0 event can become a forum for developing effective communication skills for students of the Fikom Unpad Public Relations Study Program, especially in terms of organizing.
“Communication is key in many ways, be it in friendships, work, or organizations. Therefore, with the Maroon Course 2.0 event, friends are expected to be able to learn to implement effective communication in organizational management,” she said.
